| dc.description.abstract | Zajas discusses the selection and interpretation of documents in the context of the literary archive, which emerged as an institution at the end of the nineteenth century. First he examines the internal and external factors that impact the shape of the author’s estate. Next he analyses the transposition of the publisher’s archive to the form of the literary archive. In the conclusion he highlights three levels of interpretive interventions that take place in the archive. An awareness of their scope is key especially for the sociology of literature. | en_US |
