dc.description.abstract Courtyard house for Mr M H Moolman. The house follows the incline of the site. Entrance is along a covered walkway along the first courtyard space. A second garden court separates the main bedroom from the rest of the house. Brick surface “carpets” of pattern layouts are documented in careful hand drawings. Patterns are decidedly inspired by Africa. Brick work reminds of the Little Theatre. Rectangular form gives way to circular contained outside spaces, reminiscent of African kraals. The circular paved exterior courtyards for bedroom, lounge & braai area. Detailed brick work & flat s-rib roofing. See also 07511. en_US
