Abstract

From the Pearse Collection: photograph of the interior of the Council Chamber of the City Hall of Goes, The Netherlands, showing a plastered ceiling and velvet-covered walls. The panel over the carved double doors contains a relief depicting frolicking cherubs. Photograph probably considered for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa", but never included.
