Abstract

Elevation, section, details and door furniture of the entrance door of the Alphen homestead in Cape Town. Measured by D.H. Epstein and redrawn by John Fassler for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa" – see page 27 for a brief description, and Plate 37 for the drawing and a photograph. The door and its simple fanlight are framed by carved pilasters and an entablature.
