Abstract

Elevation, plan and section of the door on the first floor balcony of the Rust-en-Vreugde homestead near Cape Town. The fine carving of the elaborate teak door surround is by Anton Anreith. The drawings were measured by Gordon Leith and D. S. Haddon and drawn by John Fassler for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa" – see page 41 for a description, and Plate 32 for the drawing.
