Abstract

Elevation, part plan and moulding details of the gate posts at Visser's Hoek in Cape Town, dated 1768. The gate used to form the entrance to the Dutch East India Company cattle enclosure. Drawings were done by H. H. McWilliams for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa" - see page 44 and Plate 68.
