Under ground garage, turning circle, fruit garden, wild garden and formal garden. winding pedestrian terrace to house. See also 07582. This house was built on a steep, rocky site with excellent views to the north. Eaton used local face-bricks of uneven color, carefully chosen to match the color of the stone on the site. A low-pitched, hipped roof with generous overhangs protects against the elements. Great care was taken in landscaping irregular terraces from the car entrance to the house. (1975: 30 – 31)
The Neethling Residence (1940) was later built on a site next to this one – see project nr 07745 or Harrop-Allin’s notes on p 37.
