Abstract

Photograph depicting a tall gueridon belonging to Mr. M. G. Mackeurtan. The upper shaft is barley-sugar turned and is topped by a flat, circular tray on which the candlestick was placed. See Fig. 184 on p. 163, and Plate 56 (measured by Fassler and Bristol and drawn by Pearse) on p. 160, of "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa" by G. E. Pearse.
