dc.description.abstract This dissertation looks at the history and development of the Decalogue and when, or how it came to be a crucial document for the nation of Israel. With this, we look at the history of Israel as a nation and their God YHWH. Having explored some of these avenues, we then seek to discover how the Decalogue is relevant today and how it perhaps affects us today. en_ZA
