Abstract

The identification and the transmission of the causal trypanosomes of the South African type of Dourine has resulted in an improvement of the methods of diagnosis by means of the examination of the blood and of the Complement Fixation Test. My thanks are due to Dr. P. J. du Toit, the Director of Veterinary Services, for the facilities placed at my disposal, to Dr. G. de Kock, the Deputy Director, for his valued advice and encouragement and to Dr. Robinson, the Sub-Director, for all the Complement Fixation Tests.
