dc.description.abstract	This study investigates a number of economic factors to determine whether individually or collectively they affect the share price response to a rights issue announcement on the JSE. It adds to the existing body of literature on new equity issue announcements and it will assist issuing firms and investors in obtaining a better understanding of what influences the valuation of shares when undertaking new equity issuances.	en
