dc.description Cleo is a mixed topography style painting that depicts the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra VII, the lover of Julius Caesar and the last ruler Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. On the Perspex (image on the left), Coetzee uses his well-known pyramid shapes with a stellar reference. In this case he refers to the strange-shaped asteroid 216 Kleopatra, which can be seen in the bottom left of the painting. en_ZA
