Abstract

Description

Gertrude Eliza Page (1872 - 1922) was an English writer that moved to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) in 1902 with her husband Alec Dobbin. During a return visit from England, Dobbin (née Page) travelled on the Balmoral Castle along with Eloff where he created this portrait of her, enveloped in a scarf. Although the current whereabouts of this work remains unknown, it was exhibited at the 1912 Individualists Exhibition in Pretoria City Hall .
