dc.description This white bisque figurine of the Princess Juliana in a wicker chair is a rather informal portrait of the ten-year-old princess. She wears a large floral hat, a knee length dress, calve-high boots and a large bow around her neck. She has a small floral bouquet in her right hand and with her left she holds the armrest of the chair. At the bottom of the figurine are the words “GES GESCHŰTZT” in black, which means “patent pending”. When Juliana was ten years old in 1919, she was taken on a tour across the Netherlands and then to Germany. This figurine was made in Germany from a photograph taken of her in The Hague in 1919. en_ZA
