dc.description By 1989 some rather odd metaphysical creatures and shapes appeared in Bettie Cilliers-Barnard’s work. In this paining quasi-bunny figures with human heads, who share the canvas with striped jumping jacks and well-known symbols such as arrows and calligraphic characters are used together. In the foreground the picture plane is dramatically divided by a dark ominous object containing three metallic signs. en_ZA
