Abstract

Description

This straight-sided beaker vessel is a characteristic shape from the K2 period of occupation. The beaker has vertical incised triangles and arrow-shapes. Beakers had more or less flattened bases with tapered, vertical or straight sides with slightly everted rims. Many beakers were manufactured with knuckle-shaped rims, this vessel has a single boss on the base. Many of these lugs, like vessel were perforated vertically or horizontally so as to suspend the vessel over an open fire. Beakers like this one in particular are often associated with burials.
