This very finely potted conical shaped bowl, resting on a neatly finished low circular foot rim is decorated with a central florette containing the reign mark Xiande nian zhi (954-960) below crisply moulded dragons amongst flowering branches of peony, all beneath a key-fret border. The bowl is covered inside and out, and underneath the base with a rich egg-yolk yellow glaze, pooling in the recessed areas. |
