Abstract

National prosperity is central to development economics. It determines the affluence of a nation and the living standard of the population. A multiplicity of factors can influence national prosperity. Industrial migration has been accredited as a driver of high and sustained economic growth across diverse nations in the world. This research sought to answer whether a conclusive relationship exists between industrial migration and national prosperity. The research design selected was mixed-methods, which included a quantitative descriptive study and an explanatory study. Economic Complexity data was collected from the Observatory of Economic Complexity and data related to national prosperity were collected from the World Bank. Evidence confirmed that a relationship was been found between industrial migration and national prosperity. Nations, who successfully migrated through the industrial forest, benefitted from rising income levels. The implications of these findings are critical to development economics.
