dc.description.abstract Takotsubo was first described in Japan in 1990, but subsequently it was described globally and in 2013 there were 1879 publications on the subject. The main characteristic is transient reversible systolic dysfunction of the left ventricle and 90% of the cases are in women. en_ZA
