Abstract
Coat and skin colour inheritance in domesticated animals have always captured the
interest of both the livestock breeder and the geneticist. While coat colour has limited
economic importance in most livestock breeds, it plays a vital role in the adaptability of the
animal, especially in the potent African sun.
