dc.description.abstract In this paper I describe my recent journey through the lower Omo Valley where I visited various tribal groups and witnessed a Hamer bull-jumping ceremony. The aim with this article is to present African life-systems found elsewhere on the continent that might reflect certain aspects archaeologists identify in our own prehistoric records. en_ZA
