Abstract
This paper sets out to study the directions environmental developments in Greater Khartoum are taking. It attempts to assess contemporary architectural and planning practices in the region in terms of natural and economic resource sustainability and area-specific climatic adaptability. A
practical strategy is proposed to direct future developments in the area.
