Abstract
Paper presented at the 9th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Malta, 16-18 July, 2012.
The unglazed transpired solar collector uses the solar energy to preheat ventilation air for buildings and agricultural applications. The thermal performance of transpired collector is depending on solar radiation significantly. This study reports on the influence of capillary heating system which is using as a supplemantary heating system for non solar radiaton conditions. A theoretical and experimental analysis were carried out regarding perforated solar air collectors which is coupled to a capillary heating system. Heat transfer effectiveness between capillary tubes and solar collector is investigated for different conditions such as mass flow rates, inlet temperatures.
