Lung lesions in sheep and goats infected with the Ball₃ strain of Cowdria ruminantium corresponded with those reported in mice infected with the Welgevonden strain of Cowdria ruminantium. Ultrastructural changes in the alveolar endothelial and epithelial cells are described and the pathogenesis of the lung oedema is briefly discussed.
