Abstract
This article focuses on the impact of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) as an
alternative service delivery option in terms of the accessibility and efficiency
of service rendering by municipalities in the local sphere of government. An
example of a PPP project in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality is highlighted.
The importance of guiding legislation, stakeholder involvement in the PPP
process, the establishment of a PPP contract and the consolidation of objectives by the partners engaging in the PPP are emphasised.
