Abstract
The Reformed Congregation of Tshiawelo, in Soweto, South Africa, has undergone a
profound change over the past 20 years. It has developed from an ailing introverted church
to a congregation that reached out to the wider community, increasing its membership
dramatically in the process. In this article, the authors reported on a number of issues related
to this transformation, including: the importance of partnerships in the process of renewal, the
methodology used in the process of renewal, the need for church planting and the necessity
for future planning.
Description
The article is based on research conducted by M.A.M.
