Abstract:
Laser applications in the medical fields are
increasing. Most applications must penetrate through skin layers to reach the treatment area.
In this study, a computer model is used to predict absorption in different skin phototypes.
Results indicate that darker skin phototypes absorb three times more laser light at a wavelength
of 632 nm than lighter skin phototypes.
