Abstract
In Part 2 of this series of articles a core group of multiword lexical items in Afrikaans is identified. It is mainly a structural semantic classification. Items that belong to this core group are: multiword prepositions such as aan die hand van; loanword groups such as sine qua non; idiomatic formulae such as so ... as wat kan kom, hoe ... hoe ... ; particle verbs such as uitvreet, om die bos lei and idioms such as op jou hoede wees.
