Description
Two people in a park walking towards a bench underneath some trees
Carl Max (Karl) Schultheiss, used the monogram C.M.Sch. The surname Mohn was added to the end of the signature on the etching, probably showing that the work was etched after a work by Victor Paul Mohn (1842-1911)
Carl Marx Schultheiss was a painter, illustrator, engraver, and etcher. He was born on August 4, 1885 in Nuremberg, Germany and died in 1961 in Kew Gardens, NY. He was an active artist from 1914 to the 1950s creating landscapes, genre, rivers, and figures. Schultheiss' early art training took place in Germany before he immigrated to the United States sometime in the 1930s.
