Mr JA van Tilburg bequeathed his "prentenkabinet" of over 10 000 graphic works to the University of Pretoria. Over 2600 of these works were small sketches and watercolours by the Dutch Impressionist Marinus Pieter Reus, the biggest collection of its kind. MP Reus (1865-1938) lived in Mr van Tilburg’s house in Dordrecht and paid him for rent in small sketches.
Two charchoal sketches by Reus portraying "De Oude Kerk" Dordrecht, from the Nieuwbrug side, with dark clouds looming in the background. On the back is a drawing of small fishing barges tied to a dock.
