Abstract
Mr JA van Tilburg bequeathed his "prentenkabinet" of over 10 000 graphic works to the University of Pretoria. Over 2600 of these works were small sketches and watercolours by the Dutch Impressionist Marinus Pieter Reus, the biggest collection of its kind. MP Reus (1865-1938) lived in Mr van Tilburg’s house in Dordrecht and paid him for rent in small sketches.
Description
Charcoal sketches on both sides of paper portraying two sailboats on a marsh with a small hill and trees in the background on the one side. On the other side is a sketch of a "sleeping" man with a beard facing to the left .
