Abstract
The Klipfontein workshops are a service division for the Anglo Platinum mines in the Rustenburg area. The motivation for this project stems from the desire to double capacity and deliverable outputs within these workshops. Thus there seems to be a need in optimising production at the Klipfontein Workshops. The purpose of this project is to document the findings of a study conducted to benefit and contribute towards the improvement of the Klipfontein Workshops. The document includes a brief background of the companies involved in the project namely Anglo Platinum and Simulation Engineering Technologies. The main problem of this study concerns the determination of and investigation into more innovative proficient and effective ways of training and implementing new techniques/systems for greater efficiency and thus optimising production. The main aim for the project will involve the implementation of recent, pristine and contemporary experiential and/or exposed methods. The deliverables of the project are and will be clearly illustrated with a beneficial on-site workshop dealing with the most recent and up-to-the-minute advice of this kind. Results are discussed and Recommendations are made.
