dc.description Thesis (B Eng. (Industrial and Systems Engineering))--University of Pretoria, 2011. en_US
dc.description.abstract Carry is a problem at New Vaal Colliery. The Duratray is an invention that assists in reducing the negative effects that this has on the mine. The problem is that the mine is not sure whether the benefits that come from using the Duratray out-way the costs and other problems involved in the implementation of it for all trucks involved in the overburden removal process. This study helps in providing valuable information on the effects of the Duratray and in so doing assisted New Vaal Colliery in making the decision as to whether there it is a viable replacement. en_US
