dc.description.abstract SiC is a wide band gap semiconductor material with potential applications in harsh environmental conditions. In this work we investigate the effects of neutron irradiation on the properties of two SiC polytypes. Changes to the optical properties were analyzed using a range of techniques including visible transmission, infra-red reflectance, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence. en_US
