dc.description.abstract	Robert (Bob) Millar will retire in 2024, after a long and distinguished career in neuroendocrinology. Claire and I have been working with Bob for some years and took on the task of organising a Festschrift to celebrate his contributions to the community and his 80th birthday, which was held in South Africa at the beginning of February 2024. Bob's accomplishments in biomedical research during a period of over 60 years are exceptional, both in the fundamental discoveries he has made and also in his ability to translate them into clinical practice for the therapy of reproductive health and hormone-dependent diseases.	en_US
