Abstract:
Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is also known as Devic’s disease. It is a demyelinating disease affecting the spinal cord and the optic nerves resulting in paraplegia and blindness. The disease is characterized by acute, severe transverse myelitis followed by simultaneous or sequential bilateral optic neuropathy. MRI is the investigation of choice, thus we present the MRI findings in a patient with NMO. (Case Study)
