Afrikaans: Die tegniese skeppinge van die Molepo, woonagtig in die distrik
Thabamoopo, van Lebowa, word na vervaardigingsmetode, vorm en
gebruik beskryf. Die faktore, wat 'n invloed het op die produsering
van tegniese skeppinge word ook behandel.
Die verband van die tegniese skeppinge met die wyer kulturele verband word deeglik behandel.
In die derde instansie word daar aangedui hoe die tegniese skeppinge
van die Molepo soms weens die werking van invloede van buite,
ontstaan het. Kontak met 'n verskeidenheid omliggende stamme word
aangedui, asook die moontlike invloed wat dit op die tegniese
skeppinge van die Molepo kon gehad het.
'n Aanduiding word ook gegee van die verandering waaraan die tegniese skeppinge teenswoordig onderworpe is. Verskillende redes,
veral die invloed van die werking van die Westerse kultuur, word
aangedui.
Laastens word daar 'n uiteensetting gegee van die faktore wat
aanleiding gee tot die behoud en voortbestaan van sekere van die
tradisionele tegniese skeppinge. |

English: A description is given of the form, function and processes of
manufacture of the material culture of the Molepo residing in the
Thabamoopo district of Lebowa. The factors determining the
production of material culture elements are also discussed.
The relationship of material culture to the rest of the culture
pattern has also been described.
In the third place the way in which foreign elements have been
accepted and integrated in the material culture is described in
detail. Contact with a number of neighbouring tribes is indicated
and the possible influences this may have had on the material
culture of the Molepo is discussed.
Recent changes in the material culture of the Molepo is discussed
and the different reasons for this change, especially the influence
of Western Civilization are explained in detail.
Lastly the factors determining the continued existence of the traditional material culture are evaluated. |
