Abstract

Proposed home for H. de Loor, Esq., to be built on Muckleneuk Ridge, Sunnyside, Pretoria. Sketch plan of double storey home: Groundfloor plan including site plan with garden layout.First floor plan. This house was built on a steep, rocky site with excellent views to the north. Eaton used local face-bricks of uneven color, carefully chosen to match the color of the stone on the site. A low-pitched, hipped roof with generous overhangs protects against the elements. Great care was taken in landscaping irregular terraces from the car entrance to the house.
