dc.description.abstract |
Photograph depicting a kist from Alphen. The openwork key escutcheon in a square frame, as well as the handles and angle strips are in brass. Unusually, the chest has two bun feet in front and two plain feet at the back. See also pages 104, 108 and Plate 31 (measured by Coleman Bristol and drawn by Pearse) of the 1960 edition of "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa" by G. E. Pearse. |
