dc.description.abstract This study investigates the quality assurance of web-supported learning and may be considered a self-evaluation exercise of the e-learning design and production unit at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. While the ‘quality’ discourse and the ‘e-learning’ discourse are topical, there is little evidence of research projects which attempt to diminish the gap between them (Reid, 2003). The theoretical framework on which this study is based is that of an integrated, process-based quality management system, applied to web-supported processes and products. The paper is presented in three parts, namely the methodology of the quality management system, critical success factors for web-supported learning, and a student feedback survey measuring client satisfaction. en_US
