Abstract:
1. Poisoning with weak and caustic alkalis is reviewed and discussed.
2. Analysis of a specimen of milk maliciously poisoned with caustic soda is described.
3. An account is given of experiments in which varying quantities of caustic soda were added to fresh cow's milk and also of experiments conducted upon rabbits with this milk. The effects of different concentrations of caustic soda on rabbits.
4. The continuous taking of alkaline powders may have serious consequnces.
