dc.description In the 1980s Coetzee met a local largely unknown, potter who owned the La Rochelle Pottery in Tulbagh in the Western Cape. As faces and still-life depictions were Coetzee's common subject matter, he also painted several portraits on ceramic plates and fired them at this kiln. en_ZA
