dc.description Atlas 5 pays homage to Michel Tapié de Céleyran (1909-1987), a French curator, connoisseur, critic and art collector who was very influential during the 1950s and 1960s in French tachisme, a form of abstract expressionism. In 1961 Tapié de Céleyran opened Coetzee's exhibition at the Stadler Gallery in Paris and described Coetzee's work as, “…the actual answer to all those who reproach Europe for being unadventurous in experimenting” en_ZA
