dc.description In 1962, Coetzee began with his Neobaroque style of painting; Blue Shell Abstraction is an early example of painting in this tradition. This Neo-baroque style quickly became one of the great art movements of the 1960s in Paris. Coetzee and the other members of the Stadler Stable, an avantgarde group, also became deeply involved in this art movement. en_ZA
