Lieutenant Colonel Hermanus Christiaan Bredell (1865 - 1953) was the private secretary of President Paul Kruger and lived in Europe with the exiled President until Kruger’s death in 1904. Bredell was married to Stephanetta Johanna Paula Eloff (1877-1920) a sister of Fanie Eloff.
