dc.description Eloff created this life-size sculpture of his grandfather President SPJ Kruger (1825 - 1904) from memory. He intended this work as a monument to be placed in Burgers Park in Pretoria. However it was never cast. Madam Segonne, a friend of Eloff, donated the head and shoulders (the location of the lower portion is unknown) of the plaster to the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and it is currently in the collection of the Centre Pompidou. en_ZA
