This is an example of one of the twelve lithographs which Bettie completed in the lithographic studio of Jean-Paul Pons in Paris in 1971. In this work the circle and crucible still predominates, but there are also free geometric forms which assume human and animal-like shapes, all emphasized by the shields on which they are placed.
