The motivation of this research is found in the knowledge that the world that we live in
today is broken and that we are in search of our participation in and of God's plan. We
have this search to know where we are suppose to make a difference in the world that we
live in. This is not just about going out and making a difference, but to take part in missio
Dei of God. We can hardly say in the 21st century that God is not challenging us to new
and creative thinking about our role (as the bride of God) as a part of God's plan. The
presumption of the researcher is that the interaction between missionaries and churches
can be managed in a better way. The presumption is that if there is better communication
and dialogue between churches and missionaries, more sustainable and more just ways
can be found to support missionaries. The question is not just for better financial support,
but also for emotional enrichment and dignity.
