Abstract:
Professor Anna Verster was a well-known helminthologist with a particular interest in the tape worms (Cestodes) of domestic and wild animals. After earning her BSc and MSc degrees, she accepted a research post at the Helminthology Division, Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute. In 1985, she accepted a senior lecturing post at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria. Many of her publications remain classic works, especially those on tapeworms which affect man and animals.
