| dc.description.abstract | The United Kingdom (particularly England) is the main developed country that recruits teachers from South Africa. This article provides an overview of teacher migration from South Africa to the United Kingdom over the past decade. The research focuses on the following aspects of migration: the recruitment of South African teachers; motivation for migration; the impact of teacher shortages in both the recruiting and the source country, and experiences of South African teachers in the United Kingdom. A number of recommendations are made for future practice. | en |
